The Old...
The Blenders have a rich history of bringing joy and music to Southeast Queensland and beyond, becoming a treasured part of the region's cultural fabric. Since their formation in 1988, when they began as the all-male "Banana Blenders", they have continually evolved to meet the times, including their transformation into a mixed chorus in 2022. For over three decades, The Blenders have been a dynamic presence at corporate galas, civic receptions, and major events across the area, fostering a deep connection with audiences through their performances.
Rooted in their community, The Blenders are more than just performers; they are mentors and ambassadors of harmony. Their efforts extend beyond music, with initiatives that empower young leaders, build bridges across generations, and nurture the art of chorus singing both locally and globally. As a not-for-profit organization, they rely primarily on member contributions but also perform at a variety of events to support their mission. This includes everything from corporate functions and product launches to weddings and seasonal festivities, where their vibrant a cappella performances bring an unmistakable spark of celebration.
Their extensive repertoire spans genres and eras, encompassing the likes of Johnny O’Keefe and Gershwin, alongside classical pieces, ballads, love songs, rock and roll, and Australiana. Each piece is delivered in their signature style—four-part a cappella harmony—creating a musical experience that is as technically impressive as it is moving.
Over the years, The Blenders have earned widespread acclaim, securing eight national chorus championships and additional silver medals. They’ve twice claimed the title of Pan Pacific Chorus Champions and proudly represented Australia on the international stage, with memorable performances in Anaheim, California, in 1999 and Denver, Colorado, in 2007. These achievements underscore their commitment to artistic excellence while also shining a spotlight on Australian talent.
Every performance The Blenders give is rooted in their goal to create community connection through music. By reinvesting funds into the group, they ensure the continuation of their remarkable journey, sharing their passion and the unique charm of Barbershop and SATB-style harmonies with audiences near and far. The Blenders are not just performers; they are custodians of an art form, champions of collaboration, and a source of enduring inspiration for all they touch.

Hi Everyone,
The Executive and Music Team held a meeting recently to develop a plan for the next six months. Our goals were to continue the growth of the club, while setting challenges for members to enjoy.
So I am excited to announce that we will be holding another 2 SingGC events in June and October, hold a workshop camp in July and compete in the GC Eisteddfod in August, with more plans in the pipeline.
Are you still unsure if you want to join The Blenders? Head over to singgc.com.au to register for the event and just give it a try!
I promise, it'll be worth it!
