Formed in April 2008 this quartet of experienced vocalists became the first quartet to win both the Open and Senior Gold Medals at the Sunshine Region Barbershop Harmony competition in August 2008. Also in November 2008 Benchmark travelled to Hawaii and won the Silver Medal in the Senior Quartet category of the Pan Pacific Barbershop Harmony Championships encompassing quartets from countries bordering the Pacific Ocean.

Benchmark won the Gold Medal at the National Senior Quartet competition in Hobart 2009 and represented Australia in the International Seniors Quartet contest in Tampa, Florida in January 2010.
