The Blenders

Denver International Competition

In July 2007 the Blenders traveled to Denver to represent Australia in the International Barbershop Competition. This was the culmination of two years work for then director Rose McGee. Her aim was to take the Blenders to international and she did - with the assistance of coaches from the United States and many weekends of intensive training.

The Blenders performed admirably and with only 50 men singing, scored well considering the altitude of Denver of almost one mile. The chorus was proud to represent Australia at the International Harmony Jamboree where they presented the audience with a unique arrangement of Waltzing Matilda.

On returning to Australia Rose took a well earned break and resigned as director of the Blenders. However she continues to provide support and advice in her capacity as a member of the Sweet Adelines Educational Faculty.
